   SUPPORTERS CLUB  •  ABOUT US

It was during the winter of 2005-2006 when it was decided to get the Newcastle Speedway Supporters' Club back off the ground, in an attempt to initially rekindle the very slow social scene at the (then) Brough Park, and so a committee was formed one cold evening in the Newton Park Hotel comprising of Steve Brock, Grace and Rachel Blowman, Albert Leaf, Lawrence Heppell, Janet Stewart, Mal Ridley and his wife Helen.

As mentioned, the main aim was to get supporters back together out of the track and into various venues to enjoy light-hearted nights of fun with the riders and management and it certainly has done that, but the opening year of activities threw up one unexpected bonus.

That bonus was a remarkable amount of money raised and so led to the club being able to fulfil it's second aim, much sooner than planned, and that was to plough money right back into the Diamonds themselves, with all spending and the like done in conjunction with the Club itself.

Every year in late February or March the club holds an AGM where any committee changes, additions and a review are conducted, usually at the Newton on the "Meet the Riders" night or Speedway Race night.
